Detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of a man in Newham have named the victim

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at approximately 12.40am on Monday, 17 June to reports of an unresponsive man found collapsed with stab injuries in Whalebone Lane, near to West Ham Lane, E15. Officers attended the scene. The man, aged 42, was pronounced dead at the scene at 1.01am A post-mortem examination held at East Ham Mortuary on Monday, 17 June gave the cause of death as hypovolemic shock, which was caused by multiple stab wounds. While formal identification has not yet taken place, officers are confident that the victim is Giedrius Juskauskas, 42, a Lithuanian national who lived in the East Ham area. His next-of-kin have been informed. Detectives from the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating. Detective Chief Inspector Larry Smith, who is leading the investigating, said: “While we continue to work to piece together the events that sadly led to a man losing his life, I would appeal to anyone who was in the vicinity of Whalebone Lane from around 00:30hrs to contact police. Were you there? Did you see anything suspicious? Your information could prove vital to our enquiries.” No arrests have been made. Enquiries continue.
