Emergency services are at the scene conducting an initial investigation to establish the full circumstances of what has happened. they wee first called at around 11pm last night (13 February).
The road closure is expected to remain in place until Tuesday, so motorists are asked to avoid the area and find alternative routes where possible.
Anybody who witnessed the incident or suspicious driving in the area around that time, or has relevant CCTV footage, can contact police online or via 101, quoting Operation Brinmore.
