Nicholas Gilpin, 22, from Farnham Common, Buckinghamshire, has been convicted on multiple terror-related charges following a major police investigation.

Extreme Right-Wing Views Land Him in Court

Thames Valley Police revealed Gilpin harboured an extreme right-wing mindset. He was found guilty of possessing terrorist documents, encouraging terrorism, and inciting racial hatred by spreading racist, anti-Semitic, and white supremacist material.

Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) arrested Gilpin during an intelligence-led operation on 18 October 2021 in Hereford. Seized electronic devices uncovered alarming content including how-to guides for killing with close combat weapons, bomb-making, use of chemical weapons, firearms, and other illegal activities.

Online Hate Campaign Exposed

Gilpin also shared videos and writings on the Telegram messaging app designed to stir racial hatred. On 16 March 2021, he posted a statement explicitly encouraging terrorism. He was charged on 20 January 2023.

“Gilpin had in his possession terrorist documents which outlined how to cause untold harm to those in society who he determined did not fit in with his mindset and he actively encouraged others to commit acts of terrorism,” said Detective Chief Superintendent Claire Finlay, head of CTPSE.

“By sharing racist and anti-Semitic content online, Gilpin knowingly stirred up racial hatred and spread extreme right-wing ideology.”

Sentencing Date Pending

Gilpin was convicted at Woolwich Crown Court after a four-week trial. His sentencing date is yet to be set.
