Attempted Car Jacking In Belfast Leads To Three Arrests

In the early hours of Wednesday 11 October, an attempted hijacking took place in north Belfast, resulting in the arrest of two men aged 32 and 28, as well as a 25-year-old woman. The suspects are being held on suspicion of various offences in connection with the incident.

At approximately 04.00 BST, a woman driving through Downview Park West was approached by two men. The woman stopped her vehicle, only to be threatened by one of the men who brandished a knife. Fearing for her safety, the victim exited her car, at which point the suspects pursued her for a short distance while attempting to steal her phone. Eventually, the pair fled the scene on foot.

In response to the incident, law enforcement officers swiftly located the individuals at a nearby residence. During the arrest, a small quantity of class A drugs was seized by the police.

As of now, all three individuals remain in police custody, awaiting further investigation.
