Hertfordshire police have confirmed the arrest of a 26-year-old man from Enfield following the brutal murder of three women in Bushey. The suspect, identified as Kyle Clifford, was apprehended yesterday evening (July 11) on suspicion of three counts of murder.
The victims, Carol Hunt, 61, wife of BBC Five Live’s John Hunt, and their two daughters, Louise, 25, and Hannah, 28, were found fatally injured at their home on Ashlyn Close in Bushey around 7 PM on Tuesday (July 9).
Following the discovery, police launched a manhunt across Hertfordshire and north London. The search concluded when Kyle Clifford was found injured in Lavender Hill Cemetery in north London on Wednesday afternoon. Police have confirmed that no shots were fired during the arrest.
Clifford was immediately taken to a major trauma center for treatment and remains in a serious condition. As of Thursday afternoon, he had not yet spoken with officers.
A crossbow was recovered during the investigation. Detective Superintendent Rob Hall expressed condolences to the victims’ family, stating, “Our thoughts remain with the victims’ family at this tragic time. The investigation is moving at pace, and as a result, we have now arrested a man. Enquiries are continuing at this time.”
