A Tesla And Three Other Vehicles Were Damaged In A Fire On The Roof-top Car Park In Maidstone

The fire started around 11.30 a.m on Friday morning after a  white Audi Q7 parked on the roof of Maidstone’s The Mall shopping centre burst into flames.

The driver, a woman, was able to exit the vehicle unharmed, but her vehicle was severely damaged before firefighters could extinguish the flames.

As plumes of black smoke billowed from the burning car, two fire engines responded.

The heat and flames damaged three other nearby vehicles, believed to be a Tesla, a Nissan Micra, and a BMW.

While the incident was being investigated, mall security personnel temporarily restricted access to the car park.

A Mall’s spokesman stated: “Earlier this morning, an Audi Q7 caught fire while driving on the top floor of our parking garage.” The driver of the vehicle called the fire department, which responded quickly and extinguished the fire.

“Unfortunately, the fire damaged three other cars, but no one was injured.

“Our security staff cordoned off the affected area of the car park and will keep it that way until the damaged cars are removed. The rest of the parking lot and the shopping centre are open as usual.
