A Margate man has appeared in court after officers located an estimated £10,000 worth of drugs at a property in the town
Canterbury Man Charged with GBH After Sussex Avenue Assault

During the afternoon of Tuesday 26 March 2024, officers stopped and searched a vehicle in Northdown Road, Cliftonville, where they found eight wraps of suspected Class A drugs, two mobile phones and a quantity of cash.

A man was arrested and, as part of the investigation, officers also searched a property in Margate under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Large quantities of class A and class B drugs were seized from the address as well as a knuckleduster, weighing scales and other items suspected to be used in connection with drug dealing.

Richard Carby was charged on Wednesday 27 March with possessing cocaine with intent to supply, possessing cannabis with intent to supply, possession of a weapon, driving without insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.

The 62-year-old, of Dane Road, appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on the same day and was remanded in custody to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 29 April.
