A man has been arrested after filming himself driving at around 160mph down the motorway

Officers were made aware of a video posted on social media by the suspect, a man in his 30s, of himself driving a Nissan GTR on the M4 between junctions 16 and 18 on January 28 at around 12.45pm well in excess of the speed limit.

The driver was arrested last night on suspicion of dangerous driving and his Nissan GTR has been seized for examination.

Sgt Ben Cox said: “This is completely unacceptable.

“Driving at speeds like this can so easily end in disaster as you have no time to respond to anything.

“We will not tolerate dangerous driving like this on our roads and we will ensure that those who do are found and brought before the courts.

“If you witnessed this behaviour on the M4 then please get in touch with us on 101 or via our website quoting reference 54240011186.”
