Long delays on the QEII Bridge were caused by an incident involving a lorry and a van on the M25 on the Essex side. Essex Police said in a statement: “At around 9.10 a.m. today, our officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision on the A282 just before the QEII bridge. The road was temporarily closed to allow emergency crews to work. “One person suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital. These are not considered life-threatening. The road has now been completely reopened.” Congestion was building for two miles before J30 A13, Lakeside, at the time, and there are A13 queues back to Grays. After Just Stop Oil protesters were arrested last night, the bridge reopened yesterday evening. Two of the four lanes remained closed while emergency personnel responded to the collision. A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue said: “At 9.21 a.m. today, crews were called to assist Essex County Fire and Rescue Service at Dartford River Crossing due to reports of a crash. A single fire engine was dispatched to the scene, but no action was required.” If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam, or other footage related to this incident, please click here and reference incident 0272 from October 19.
