A Fiat Panda Travelling Southbound Collided With A Daf Truck Travelling Northbound Near Patching

Police are looking for witnesses after a fatal collision on the A280 Long Furlong near Worthing around 12.18pm on Tuesday, May 31.

A Fiat Panda travelling southbound collided with a DAF truck travelling northbound near Patching.

Despite the best efforts of bystanders and paramedics, the sole occupant of the Fiat, an 85-year-old local woman, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other injuries reported.

We would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding as a section of the road was closed for several hours to allow for investigations and recovery work.
