A shooting incident at the central bus station in Beersheba, southern Israel, has led to the death of a 25-year-old woman and left several others injured, local authorities reported.

MDA Israel, the country’s emergency pre-hospital service, initially treated eight casualties at the scene. They confirmed the fatality of a young woman and provided updates on other victims’ conditions. A 20-year-old woman is reportedly in “moderate to serious” condition with gunshot wounds. Four individuals in their twenties are also reported to be in moderate condition, suffering from gunshot injuries.

Five more people were described as being in “mild condition,” having sustained injuries from glass shrapnel and other causes related to the attack. Additionally, three people were evacuated due to anxiety symptoms.

The motive behind the attack and the identity of the assailant remains unclear. One suspect was reportedly killed in the aftermath of the incident. Local law enforcement is investigating, and security measures in the area have been heightened.
