17-Year-Old Charged with Rape on Eastbourne Beach

A 17-year-old boy from Eastbourne has been charged with the rape of a woman on Eastbourne beach, an incident that occurred in the early hours of Friday, 9 August. Due to his age, the defendant cannot be named for legal reasons.

The attack took place near the bandstand, a popular landmark in Eastbourne. Following the incident, the victim has been receiving support from specially trained officers, ensuring she has access to the care and assistance needed during this difficult time.

The defendant was formally charged with rape and has been remanded in custody. He is scheduled to appear before Brighton Magistrates’ Court today, 12 August.
