Bromley police are seeking vital information from the public after an audacious burglary in Shortlands, Bromley, resulted in the theft of watches, jewellery, and cash amounting to £40,000.
The burglary transpired on Thursday, 21 December, when the victims were absent from their flat during the day. Upon their return, at approximately 17:30 hrs, they were met with the disheartening discovery that their residence had been violated, and numerous valuable possessions had been unlawfully taken. Among the stolen items were an assortment of watches, necklaces, and an £800 cash sum.
Detectives are eager to make contact with two individuals who were observed exiting the premises through the main exit around the same time the victims returned home. These individuals could potentially hold valuable information crucial to the investigation.
Description of the First Suspect:
- White ethnicity
- Slim build
- Approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall
- Wearing a dark beanie hat
- Sporting a white face mask
- Adorned in a short dark bomber jacket
Description of the Second Suspect:
- White ethnicity
- Stocky build
- Dark hair and an unkempt beard
- Approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall
- Wearing a gold earring
- Donning a hat and a short jacket
- Wearing a white cloth face mask
- One of the suspects was carrying a bag
Among the stolen items were:
- Vintage and gold watches
- Yellow gold stirrup cufflinks in a chain design
- White gold and diamond necklace with matching earrings
- Diamond and pearl earrings
- Vintage solid yellow gold Dunhill Rolagas lighter
- Samsonite dark grey/black suitcase
Detective Constable Aaron Cody, who oversees the investigation, emphasized the emotional impact such incidents have on victims and the importance of cracking down on such crimes to ensure residents‘ safety in their homes.
He stated, “We are keen to speak to anyone who can help in any way. Maybe you were in the area at the time and saw something suspicious. Or maybe you have heard about individuals who are trying to sell items matching the descriptions of what was taken.”
