The men were detained in connection with a break-in at a residential address, where one of the victims was left with serious stab wounds.
Kent Police was called at 11.20pm on Friday 5 January 2024, to a report that entry had been forced to a flat in The Cockpit by a group of men who made demands for money. It is alleged they left after stealing cash and bank cards.
Officers attended and a man was taken to hospital with serious knife injuries to his arm and hand. A woman was also assaulted and sustained less serious injuries.
Searches of surrounding areas led to three men being detained at a location near Marden train station. A fourth suspect was arrested the following day.
Charged and remanded
The following charges have now been authorised as part of an investigation led by detectives from West Kent CID:
Shah Ali, 27, of The Cockpit, Marden is charged with aggravated burglary and grievous bodily harm with intent.
Emran Ahmed, 20, of Hopton Road, Streatham, London, is charged with aggravated burglary and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Mohamed Ahmed, 19, of Gainsborough Road, Hayes, Greater London and Maryam Mohammad, 21, of Hitherbroom Road, Hayes, Greater London are both charged with aggravated burglary.
All four were remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday 8 January.
