A devastating collision in Co Kildare, Ireland, has resulted in the tragic death of a woman in her 40s, while two young children are currently battling serious injuries. The incident occurred at approximately 6.15pm on the R148 at Clondurry near Enfield and involved a collision between the car the woman was driving and a van.
Tragically, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene, marking a heartbreaking loss for her family and the community. Meanwhile, the two children, who were passengers in the car at the time of the collision, were swiftly transported to Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) in Crumlin. Their current condition is described as “serious but stable.”
The driver of the van involved in the collision was also transported to the hospital; however, their injuries are reported as non-life threatening.
As a result of this tragic incident, the R148 road between Enfield and Kilcock has been temporarily closed. Local diversions have been put in place to manage traffic flow during this period.
