Fire crews battle to free one trapped in vehicle

Fire crews this evening are battling to to free one person trapped in a serious crash on Middle Road between Carisbrooke and Calbourne tonight (Monday). Emergency crews are using cutting equipment to free one person trapped inside their vehicle near Betty Haunt Lane. Crews are carrying out a roof removal as an a plan to free the crash victim The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue service were called with police and paramedics just after 9.30pm on Monday evening. The road has been closed in both directions
