New picture of James McCann UK most wanted serial attacker released by police
Police have released a further image of wanted man Joseph McCann as lead investigator DCI Katherine Goodwin, of the Homicide and Major Crime Command, issued a statement on the police investigation to find him: We are investigating three horrific incidents of rape and abduction against women and we are appealing for help from the public to locate Joseph McCann, who is wanted for questioning in connection with the offences. McCann is 34 years old. He is wanted by the Met for two offences and by Hertfordshire Police in connection with a third offence. He is described as being of muscular build, 5ft 10ins tall, he has blue eyes, a bald head or shaved blond hair with a light-coloured short beard and a distinctive tattoo of the name ‘Bobbie’ on his stomach. The first woman was abducted from a street in Chingford in the very early hours of last Thursday, 25 April. The second woman was taken from a street in Edgware just 12 hours later, at 12.15am. The women were driven to the hotel in Watford where McCann attempted to book a room at around 1pm. This didn’t work out for him and he drove the women away from the hotel. At around 2.30pm the women managed to escape during a struggle with the suspect at Osborne Road in Watford. A third offence in Watford, in the early hours of Sunday, 21 April is being jointly investigated by the Met and Herts police. We are still keen to trace a silver or grey-coloured Ford S-Max people carrier and a blue coloured Ford Mondeo both being driven on false registration plates. Any information about these vehicles should be passed to my team. Our enquiries strongly indicate that McCann is being hidden by someone who knows him. McCann is wanted in connection with violent, sexually motivated offences and it is vital that he be apprehended. McCann is a violent individual who is a risk to women and poses a threat to children. A reward of up to £20,000 is offered for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect.
