Man arrested for possession of drugs and firearm in Portsmouth
Officers from Hampshire Constabulary have arrested a 51 year old man from Hayling Island. A stop took place at 5.15am on Wednesday 24th April. The man has been arrested by Hampshire police on Portsdown Hill Road, on suspicion of possess a controlled drug of Class A – heroin and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. He’s been now released from custody but remains under investigation. Police will submit the substance found on the man to a Forensic Labratory for confirmation on its contents. Hampshire Police continue to tackle drugs in the county as part of the ongoing operation Fortress.
