Murder probe launched after fatal stabbing in Kingston upon Thames
A murder investigation has been launched in Kingston-Upon-Thames following a fatal stabbing. Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 2.16am on Sunday, 5 August to Cambridge Gardens, following reports of a stabbing. Officers attended and found a 22-year-old man suffering from stab wounds. Despite the efforts of members of the public and police who gave initial CPR, prior to the arrival of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene at 3.02am. His next of kin have been informed. Formal identification is yet to take place. A post-mortem examination will be held in due course. There have been no arrests and enquiries continue. An incident room has now opened under the Homicide and Major Crime Command, led by Detective Chief Inspector Mark Cranwell. DCI Cranwell of the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: “It is believed that the victim may have been involved in an altercation involving up to 10 people prior to being assaulted. “We need to hear from anyone who was there who may have any information no matter how small.
