Pullen was the leader of the Liverpool Branch of the Royal British Legion until his resignation in February 2019 and efforts to trace him since have been unsuccessful. The Legion has brought a private prosecution against Mr Pullen involving theft of cash between January 2017 and June 2019 and fraud by abuse of trust. He resigned as the local Poppy Appeal Officer saying he was busy with other commitments and it was a week later it was realised that the collection tins were allegedly missing. It was then a Legion official went to Mr Pullen’s home in Jacksmere Lane in Scarisbrick where his former landlord said he’d left the property in a poor state, also owing £10,000 in rent and hasn’t been seen since.
