Man attacked by group of Yobs on Margate sea front

Witnesses sought to assault near Margate seafront Officers investigating a serious assault in Margate are appealing for witnesses to come forward. At around 6.20pm on Saturday 19 May, officers were called to Marine Gardens near Albert Terrace to a report of a disturbance involving a group of people. A man in his 50s had been assaulted during the incident. The suspects reportedly left the scene on foot towards the High Street area of town. The victim sustained several injuries to his head and torso, and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Officers attended the scene and enquiries are ongoing. Detective Inspector Mat Scott said: ‘We would like to thank those witnesses who have already come forward. ‘The assault took place near to the seafront and is a relatively busy area of town. We ask anyone who might have seen something which could help our investigation and hasn’t yet spoken to an officer, to call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 19-1004.’
