In a disconcerting development for HMP Sudbury, another convict has managed to abscond from the open jail, prompting a call for public assistance in locating the fugitive.
Matthew West, 39, walked out from the prison premises at 20.15 on October 24. West was serving an eight-year sentence for battery.
Described as approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, with a medium build, blonde hair, and blue eyes, West sports tattoos on both arms and bears scars on his head and face.
He is believed to be dressed in a light grey top with an orange stripe, black joggers, and black trainers. West has connections to Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, and Staffordshire, raising concerns about his potential movements.
Police have urged members of the public not to approach West but instead to provide any relevant information to Derbyshire Police. The reference number for this case is 23*661468.
