Merseyside Police are appealing for information after a man was stabbed in Tranmere in the early hours of Tuesday morning, October 10. The incident occurred at approximately 04.00 BST on Brougham Avenue.
According to reports, a man in his 40s sustained stab wounds and was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment. The victim’s injuries, which include puncture wounds to his back and neck, are described as critical. He is currently receiving medical care at the hospital.
In response to the incident, law enforcement officers swiftly arrived at the scene. However, the suspect had already fled the area on foot, reportedly heading towards Orchard Court and Quigley Street.
As investigations into the incident continue, officers are actively conducting forensic examinations, reviewing CCTV footage, and conducting house-to-house and witness enquiries in the surrounding area. High visibility patrols have also been deployed to provide reassurance to the local community.
Detective Inspector Andrew Schofield, leading the investigation, emphasised the importance of gathering information to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the incident. He urged anyone with potential leads to come forward and assist authorities in their inquiries. Residents in the area are encouraged to review their CCTV footage to determine if any relevant information was captured during the time of the incident.
