Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses to a robbery that took place in Hailsham. The incident occurred at a property on Ersham Road at approximately 00.35 BST on Saturday, 7 October. Four individuals broke into the residence and demanded money from the occupant.
The victim, an elderly man in his 80s, was threatened by the intruders and complied with their demands, handing over a sum of cash. During the ordeal, he was struck on the head and was subsequently taken to the hospital for medical treatment. Fortunately, he has since been discharged.
Law enforcement officers promptly responded to the scene and conducted an extensive search of the area, utilising police dogs and a drone. Unfortunately, no suspects were identified.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or may have captured relevant footage on their doorbell cameras, CCTV cameras, or dash cams to come forward. The information provided could be crucial in progressing the investigation.
