A British man serving in the Israeli army has been killed in an attack by Hamas. Corporal Nathanel Young, a 20-year-old soldier from London, was a member of the 13th Battalion, according to the Israeli Defence Forces.
The news of Corporal Young’s untimely death was shared by his family on Facebook, expressing their heartbreak. They wrote, “Our little brother Nathanel Young was tragically killed on the Gaza Border yesterday.” The loss of their loved one has undoubtedly left them devastated.
Corporal Young, who previously attended JFS, a Jewish mixed comprehensive school in Kenton, north London, had been residing at the Bayit Shel Benji home for lone IDF soldiers in Raanana, located north of Tel Aviv, as reported by the Jewish News. His family described him as someone who was full of life, the life of the party, and lovingly referred to as DJ by his comrades. They emphasized his love for music and his talent as a DJ, highlighting his willingness to go to great lengths for his loved ones. He was cherished as an incredible uncle and brother, and his enthusiasm for life was evident during his time in Israel, a country he loved dearly.
Reports from Israeli media indicate that the attack by Hamas fighters on Saturday morning has resulted in the deaths of at least 400 Israelis, with more than 2,000 individuals sustaining injuries. The situation remains tense and volatile in the region, with ongoing conflict and violence.
