Sussex Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man in connection with a rape investigation. The incident, reported by a girl in her late teens, allegedly occurred in a flat on Western Road during the early hours of Tuesday, 5 September.
The victim came forward on 6 September, prompting an immediate investigation. Specialist officers have been providing support to the survivor during this challenging time.
Detective Inspector Cheryl Lewendon emphasised the meticulous nature of the ongoing investigation, stating, “A thorough and painstaking investigation is underway into this incident.” CCTV enquiries have led to the identification of an individual captured shortly before midnight on Monday, 4 September, at Western Road Food and Wine.
The images show the man with a distinctive orange bike. Detective Inspector Lewendon urged anyone who recognises him or possesses information relevant to the case to come forward. She added, “If you recognise him, or have any information that could help, please contact police online or via 101, quoting serial 1825 of 06/09.
