Laurence Fox, the 45-year-old actor turned political figure, was arrested by the Metropolitan Police on Wednesday morning following a search of his residence in Stockwell. The arrest is in connection with suspicions of conspiring to commit criminal damage to ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission Zone) cameras and encouraging or assisting offences related to the vandalism.
The Metropolitan Police, confirming the arrest to The Daily Mirror newspaper, stated, “On Wednesday 4, October officers arrested a 45-year-old man on suspicion of conspiring to commit criminal damage to ULEZ cameras and encouraging or assisting offences to be committed. He was arrested in Stockwell and has been taken to a South London police station where he remains in custody.”
The incident gained public attention when the Reclaim Party, launched by Fox himself, shared a video capturing the moment of the police search at his residence. In the video, Fox is seen sitting on a sofa, asserting, “Look how many coppers there are around my house.” The camera then reveals uniformed police officers wearing blue plastic gloves and holding clear plastic bags, apparently collecting items from Fox’s home.
