In a development arising from an investigation by the Metropolitan Police, David Huber, 60, of North Stainmore, Cumbria, appeared at Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 3 October, facing several firearms-related charges.
Huber was charged on 2 October with multiple offences, including possession of a bladed article, possession of an offensive weapon, and three counts of possessing ammunition without holding a firearm certificate. Additionally, he faces a charge of possessing a weapon subject to general prohibition.
The charges stem from an incident on 2 May 2023 when police officers detained Huber after he approached the gates of Buckingham Palace and threw several items into the Palace grounds.
Huber has been granted bail and is scheduled to appear at Carlisle Crown Court on 3 November for a plea and case management hearing.
