A man has been charged following an incident in Greenwich where a 20-month-old child was bitten by a dog. Police responded to the call on Monday, 2 October, taking swift action to address the situation and ensure the safety of the child involved.

At 10:10 BST on Monday, authorities were alerted to a distressing incident in Catherine Grove, SE10, where a 20-month-old child had been bitten by a dog. Police, accompanied by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, swiftly attended the scene to provide immediate assistance.

The child was promptly transported to the hospital for medical assessment. Fortunately, the injuries were determined to be not life-threatening or life-changing, offering some relief to concerned parties. The rapid response by emergency services contributed to ensuring the child’s well-being.

Officers on the scene successfully located the dog and its owner. The owner was promptly arrested, and the dog was seized for further investigation.

Thomas Ackah, born on 26th April 1994, residing at Old Kent Road, SE1, has been charged with being in charge of a dangerously out-of-control dog. Ackah is scheduled to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 3 October, where legal proceedings will commence regarding the incident.
