In the aftermath of a fatal stabbing in Wembley, Joshua Oladele, 19, of Wyld Way, Wembley, has been charged with the murder of 25-year-old Hamza Iqbal and possession of an offensive weapon. Oladele appeared in custody at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Monday, October 2, and has been remanded in custody until his next appearance at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, October 4.
The charges come following a police investigation that began when authorities were alerted just after 23:00hrs on Sunday, September 24, about a stabbing incident in Olympic Way, Wembley. Officers, along with the London Ambulance Service, responded promptly and discovered Hamza Iqbal with serious injuries. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Iqbal succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
A post-mortem examination conducted on September 27 established sharp force trauma to the chest as the preliminary cause of Hamza Iqbal’s death, shedding light on the severity of the incident.
Two other individuals, both 19 years old, were arrested on suspicion of murder in connection to the ongoing investigation. They have been bailed until further enquiries take place in December. Moreover, a 19-year-old woman and a 29-year-old woman were also taken into custody on suspicion of assisting an offender and have been bailed pending further enquiries, with scheduled dates in December.
