Police have initiated a double murder investigation in Leeds after two men lost their lives in a tragic incident. The report was received at 11:06 BST on Saturday indicating a stabbing near Hill Top Avenue, Harehills.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a seriously injured male in Back Hill Top Avenue, who was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. Another male, located in a nearby address, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment but was pronounced dead shortly after.
A third male, aged 46, was found with a serious hand injury and has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He is receiving treatment in the hospital. Additionally, a 48-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of murder related to the incident.
A scene has been established in the area for forensic examination and specialised searches. The West Yorkshire Police Homicide and Major Enquiry Team are leading the investigation.
Detective Chief Superintendent Sarah Jones, the Senior Investigating Officer, expressed the tragedy of two lives lost suddenly and violently. The victims have been identified as a 53-year-old local resident, with support provided to his family, and a 65-year-old man, whose family is being sought.
