Detectives from the British Transport Police are seeking assistance from the public as they investigate a vicious assault that occurred at Newton Aycliffe station on September 6. At approximately 16.45 BST a group of four youths attacked an 18-year-old young man, subjecting him to repeated kicks and punches even after he was knocked to the ground.
The victim suffered numerous cuts and bruises, necessitating hospital attendance. To aid in their investigation, detectives have released a CCTV image of a young man they believe may have vital information related to the assault.
The British Transport Police is urging anyone who recognises the individual in the image to come forward. Information from the public could be crucial in progressing the investigation and bringing those responsible for the assault to justice.
