Detectives probing the tragic murder of Max Moy Wheatley in Petts Wood have made significant strides in the case with the arrest of two men, a 19 years old, and an 18 years old, the arrests were executed on Friday, 29 September, on suspicion of murder. Both individuals are currently in custody at a south London police station.
The family of Max Wheatley has been notified of these developments and is receiving ongoing support from dedicated specialist officers during this challenging time.
The investigation was initiated following a call to police by the London Ambulance Service at approximately 14:30hrs on Wednesday, 20 September. The distressing report indicated a stabbing incident in Jubilee Country Park, near Tent Peg Lane in Petts Wood. Responding swiftly, officers and the Kent Air Ambulance attended the scene. Despite their concerted efforts, Max Wheatley, hailing from the Orpington area, tragically lost his life at the scene.
A post-mortem examination conducted on Friday, 22 September, revealed the cause of death as a stab wound to the heart.
