Fans of the acclaimed BBC drama series “Time” are in for a treat as they have the chance to attend the Liverpool premiere of the eagerly awaited second series. This thrilling opportunity offers a sneak peek at the show, which will be followed by a Q&A session with key cast and creatives.
“Time” Series 2, which comprises three gripping episodes, delves into the lives of three vastly different inmates within a women’s prison. Kelsey (Bella Ramsey), Orla (Jodie Whittaker), and Abi (Tamara Lawrance) find themselves thrown together in Carlingford Prison, facing the challenges of an unfamiliar world.
The exclusive red carpet event is scheduled for Tuesday, October 17, and will feature the premiere of the first episode. This premiere precedes the broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer later in the Autumn. Among the distinguished guests attending will be the multi-award-winning writer and proud Liverpudlian, Jimmy McGovern, along with key cast and creatives.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A session hosted by BBC Radio Merseyside presenter Ngunan Adamu, featuring insights from the series’ key cast and creatives.
“Time,” a drama set and produced in the Liverpool City Region, exemplifies the BBC’s commitment to its “Across the UK” strategy. This strategy aims to redistribute creative spend and decision-making across the country, ensuring that all regions are represented and valued by the BBC. The BBC is not only meeting but exceeding its goal to allocate 60% of Network TV commissioning spend outside of London by 2027, two years ahead of schedule.
This special event, held at St George’s Hall in Liverpool, is a celebration of homegrown drama and is designed especially for audiences in and around Merseyside. To apply for free tickets to this exclusive premiere, visit the BBC Shows and Tours website.
The second series of “Time” is a testament to the collaboration between BBC Studios, the exceptional talent of Jimmy McGovern, and creative organisations in and around Liverpool. Kate Squire, Head of the BBC in the North West, expressed her pride in presenting extraordinary drama from Liverpool and other regions across the UK.
Jimmy McGovern, the renowned writer, remarked, “Absolutely delighted to be holding this event in my home town. Please come. It really is worth watching.”
Helen Black, co-writer of the series, added, “It is exciting and truly fitting that the first screening of this season of Time will be held in Jimmy’s home city of Liverpool.”
