In a significant victory for law enforcement, a Met Counter Terrorism Police investigation has culminated in the imprisonment of Sejr Forster, a 26-year-old resident of Norfolk. Forster’s arrest in May 2022 marked the beginning of a meticulous inquiry by counter terrorism officers, who uncovered a disturbing array of terrorism and child abuse offences.
Counter terrorism officers, aided by colleagues from the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit, apprehended Forster after identifying his involvement in stockpiling terrorist documents. When questioned about his mobile phone, Forster initially claimed to have lost it at a local pub. However, diligent detectives discovered the device hidden beneath his mattress.
Digital forensic specialists subsequently delved into Forster’s phone, revealing a shocking trove of over 750 indecent pictures and videos featuring children as young as three years old. Alongside these heinous materials, investigators found a collection of digital and hard copies of manuals detailing the construction of weapons and explosives.
Commander Dominic Murphy, the head of the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command, expressed his dismay at Forster’s actions. “Forster built an appalling library of terrorist and child abuse material. His stockpile included the most serious types of child abuse images, and detailed bomb-making instructions. We also found texts and paraphernalia that highlighted his extreme right-wing mindset,” he stated.
Thanks to the relentless determination of counter terrorism investigators, Forster has been brought to justice for his involvement in terrorism offences and child abuse crimes. On September 26, 2023, at the Old Bailey, Forster received his sentence. The judge imposed a four-year jail term, supplemented by one year on license upon release.
Upon his release, Forster will be subjected to both a ten-year terrorism notification order and a ten-year sexual harm prevention order. These measures are designed to curtail his ability to cause further harm and ensure the safety of society.
