Filming for the highly anticipated third and fourth series of “Phoenix Rise” is currently underway in the West Midlands, and fans are in for a treat as the talented Fleur East joins the cast in the role of Miss Meesha, a charismatic and inspirational music teacher.
Fleur East, known for her musical prowess and captivating performances, expressed her excitement about joining the cast of “Phoenix Rise.” She shared, “I’m thrilled to be a part of Phoenix Rise. There is so much raw talent, and I’ve been soaking up the experience like a sponge! The cast and crew are amazing to work with, and the scripts are real, gritty, funny, and heart-warming. I can’t wait for everyone to be introduced to my character Miss Meesha – she’s a ball of energy!”
“Phoenix Rise,” created by Perrie Balthazar and Matt Evans, revolves around a group of young outsiders who return to mainstream education after being excluded from school. The series explores their journey as they form unlikely friendships and navigate the challenges of school life. The critically-acclaimed drama centres on six students who regularly meet in a disused boiler room at their school, a place that becomes their sanctuary.
The first series of “Phoenix Rise” is already available on BBC iPlayer, with the second series launching today on BBC Three and iPlayer. Fans can look forward to series three and four, featuring Fleur East as Miss Meesha, which are set to air next year.
“Phoenix Rise” is produced by BBC Studios Kids & Family Productions, with Tali Walters serving as the Creative Director. For series three and four, Mark Freeland takes on the role of Executive Producer, alongside creators Perrie Balthazar and Matt Evans, while Alison B Matthews serves as the Producer. The series was commissioned by Sarah Muller, Senior Head of BBC Children’s Commissioning 7+, and the Commissioning Editor for the BBC is Amy Buscombe.
