Dangerous Predator Peter Fisher Jailed for Seven Year for sexual offences against children

A dangerous predator who targeted young children for his own sexual gratification has been jailed for more than seven years. Peter Michael Fisher, 20 of Dagenham was sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court today, Wednesday, 2 May to a total of seven and a half years’ imprisonment. He pleaded guilty at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 5 January to six counts of sexual communication with a child, two counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, two counts of malicious communication, one count of causing a child to watch a sexual act and possession of indecent photographs of a child. These offences related to eight different female victims, aged between 13 and 16 years old. Fisher will be placed on the Sex Offenders Register until further notice and will be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order until further notice. Fisher committed the offences between 1 October 2016 and 30 September 2017 from his home address and during a family holiday in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. Fisher was originally arrested by officers from the Met’s Child Sexual Exploitation Team (SET) on 15 August 2017, following a complaint from two girls. He was interviewed and placed on conditional bail. Following his arrest detectives undertook telephone and social media work and obtained numerous phone numbers leading to the victims. They travelled all over the United Kingdom to meet with children who had been in contact with Fisher via social media. In one particular case, Fisher had sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old girl, knowing she was under 16 years of age. Having obtained the information from the victims, officers re-arrested Fisher on 22 November 2017. He was interviewed at length and after hearing the evidence from all of the victims, he admitted to all offences put to him. He was originally charged with 11 offences and three further charges were added to his indictment at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 5 January. Detective Constable Steve Gradwell, from SET, said: “I would like to praise the children for their courage in speaking to officers and providing vital evidence to prosecute Fisher. “Many of them were victims of online sexual offences and did not recognise that they were being abused. He used his social media profile to gain their trust and share intimate photos and then used those images to coerce his victims into sexual activity. “My advice to any child or young person is: do not share pictures online that you would find embarrassing if anyone else, such as your friends or parents were to see them as you have no control over the images once sent. But if you are worried about someone sharing intimate pictures of you online please don’t let embarrassment stop you from contacting the police. “Alternatively, online abuse can be reported online to the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP). Advice on online grooming can be found on many websites such as the NSPCC. “Fisher is a prolific sexual offender and it cannot be discounted that he has sexually abused other people. If you have been a victim of Fisher, please contact the Met’s Sexual Exploitation Team on 020 8217 9817 – specially trained officers are there to support you.” Fisher pleaded not guilty to two counts of malicious communication; they are to lie on file.
