A significant development has occurred in the investigation of a rape case in Edgware, as a 31-year-old man was arrested in Hendon on Tuesday, September 19, in connection with the incident. The alleged rape took place in the early hours of Wednesday, September 6, outside Edgware underground station.
The victim, a man in his 20s, had been on a night out with friends and was on his way home when the incident occurred. He reported that he was approached by a man who initiated a conversation before allegedly sexually assaulting him in a nearby car park area.
The victim has been receiving support from specially trained officers throughout the investigation.
Detectives had previously released images and CCTV footage of a man they wished to speak to in connection with the case, which aided in the arrest of the 31-year-old suspect.
The arrested individual has been taken to a custody suite in North London for questioning, where he remains at this time.
