A devastating incident unfolded in Manchester as a workman tragically lost his life when a wall collapsed at a residential property on Lloyd Street. The “workplace accident” occurred at approximately 14:50 BST on Saturday, prompting a swift response from police, fire, and ambulance services.

Efforts were made by emergency personnel to save the man, who was in his 40s, but despite their best endeavours, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Greater Manchester Police received a distressing call regarding “concerns for the welfare of a man” at the specified address. Upon arriving at the scene, it became evident that a workplace accident had transpired, resulting in the tragic loss of the man’s life.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police expressed their condolences, stating, “It was established that a man in his 40s was involved in a workplace accident, and despite the best efforts of emergency services, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Enquiries are ongoing at this stage.”
