In a heart-wrenching and deeply distressing case, Urfan Sharif, 41, his partner Beinash Batool, 29, and Urfan’s brother, Faisal Malik, 28, all residents of Hammond Road, Woking, have appeared in court facing charges of murdering 10-year-old Sara Sharif. Additionally, they are charged with causing or allowing the death of a child.
The tragic incident came to light when Sara’s lifeless body was discovered at her home on August 10th. The defendants were brought before the Guildford Magistrates’ Court, where they denied the charges against them.
According to the prosecutor, Sara’s lifeless body was found on the bottom bunk of a bunk bed in an upstairs bedroom. However, the exact cause of her death is yet to be established.
This disturbing case took an international turn when it was revealed that all three defendants had left the UK for Pakistan on August 9. After spending over five weeks abroad, they were apprehended at Gatwick Airport on Wednesday evening upon their return from Dubai.
Surrey Police confirmed on Friday morning that they had been charged with the crimes after just over 28 hours in police custody. The defendants have been remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey in London for their next court appearance.
