Police in Wigan have launched an appeal for witnesses following the tragic death of a 20-year-old man at a property on Ince Green Lane in Ince, Wigan. The incident occurred on Monday, September 11, 2023, and is currently being treated as suspicious.
Authorities were alerted to the situation at approximately 18.30 BST on that fateful evening. Officers, along with colleagues from the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS), promptly responded to the call for assistance. Despite their efforts, the young man’s life could not be saved
Detective Superintendent Simon Hurst of Greater Manchester Police’s (GMP) Wigan Division is overseeing the investigation. He stated, “We are diligently investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident. At this early stage, we have three individuals in custody who are cooperating with our inquiries.”
While the investigation is still in its initial phases, law enforcement is appealing to the public for assistance. Detective Superintendent Hurst made a heartfelt plea, saying, “I want to appeal to anyone who was in the vicinity of Ince Green Lane and the Ince area during the late afternoon and evening on that day. If you witnessed the incident or observed anything suspicious, please come forward.”
In their quest for information, the police are particularly interested in speaking with individuals who may possess relevant CCTV footage, dashcam recordings, or Ring doorbell footage. Any potential evidence could prove invaluable in shedding light on the circumstances surrounding this tragic loss of life.
