Dearest “Lucy” Be at Peace M27 Bridge Tribute
Attached to Downend Bridge is a single bunch of red roses tied with a pink ribbon, the only reminder of yesterday’s tragic accident in which a woman died after falling from the bridge which crosses the M27.
The flowers have a small gold card attached to them with the words “Dearest Lucy Be at Peace Daz and Jac XX”, a poignant reminder of a tragic waste of life.
Police closed two lanes of the motorway on Tuesday afternoon and motorists endured traffic chaos. Hampshire Constabulary Police officers attended along with colleagues from Highways Agency and paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
