A boy was riding an electric scooter in Darnley Road, Strood, around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, when he was approached by an unknown teenager.
Before stealing the scooter, the latter is said to have shown the boy a knife tucked in his waistband and made threats.
The victim later saw the suspect enter the Rochester train station while still carrying his property, and the police were called.
Officers on the scene apprehended the suspect, and a member of the public recovered the victim’s scooter. A kitchen knife was also seized during the search.
Following an investigation, the teenager was also arrested on suspicion of a knifepoint robbery the day before. Another boy was threatened and his phone and watch were stolen in the incident in Cuxton Road, Strood.
The 16-year-old Rochester resident was later charged with both robberies and having a knife in a public place.
He was remanded in custody and will appear in Medway Magistrates’ Court on June 1st.
