Tragedy struck at Everton Football Club’s new stadium construction site in Liverpool, as a 26-year-old man lost his life due to injuries sustained on the premises. The incident occurred at Bramley Moore Dock, the location of the club’s upcoming football ground.
Merseyside Police were alerted to the situation around 12:30pm and swiftly transported the injured individual to the hospital. Unfortunately, despite efforts to save him, the 26-year-old man succumbed to his injuries. The victim’s family has been notified, and authorities have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has also dispatched officials to the site to gather information and make inquiries.
The new stadium, situated along the banks of the River Mersey, is a significant project for Everton Football Club. Anticipation has been building as the club prepares to move from its longstanding home at Goodison Park, which first opened its doors in 1892. The Bramley Moore Dock site promises to provide a state-of-the-art facility for the team and its fans. The completion of the stadium is expected in late 2024.
