Armed police were called to Waterloo Station following reports of a male passenger carrying a sword on an incoming train. The incident, which has been declared a firearms situation, prompted a swift response from Armed response officers from the Met Police and British Transport Police.
Passengers and station staff were urged to remain calm and follow the instructions of officers as the situation unfolded. The safety and security of individuals at the station were of paramount importance.
Upon arrival around 8 pm on Saturday evening armed officers swiftly assessed the situation and implemented appropriate measures to ensure the safety of all those present. The specific details of the encounter with the individual carrying the sword have not yet been disclosed.
Waterloo Station, one of London’s busiest transport hubs, experienced a temporary disruption as a result of the incident. Train services and access to certain platforms were temporarily affected as Police worked to resolve the situation.
