A trainee Detective Constable with the Metropolitan Police, Rosemary Edwards, is set to face a misconduct hearing following two extremely high breath test readings taken on July 22 of the previous year. The outcome of the hearing could potentially lead to her dismissal from the force.

On the day in question, Edwards provided two breath test readings that were significantly over the prescribed alcohol limit. The first reading showed 141 micrograms of alcohol per 100 milliliters of breath, while the second reading recorded 144 micrograms of alcohol per 100 milliliters of breath. These readings were found to be 11 times higher than the permissible alcohol limit of 13 micrograms for being fit for duty.
