Reality television personality Stephen Bear has been jailed after repeatedly breaching a court order designed to protect Georgia Harrison MBE by posting abusive content about her on social media. Bear, 36, was sentenced to 16 months in prison at Chelmsford Crown Court on Thursday (6 August) after admitting one count of breaching a restraining order. The court heard that between March and July 2025, Bear repeatedly posted about Ms Harrison across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X and YouTube, despite a five-year restraining order expressly prohibiting him from contacting her or posting about her online. Prosecutors said the posts formed part of a sustained campaign in which Bear made degrading comments about Ms Harrison and encouraged others to target her with online abuse. The restraining order was imposed in March 2023 after Bear was convicted of disclosing private sexual photographs and films with intent to cause distress and voyeurism. He was sentenced to 21 months in prison for those offences. Evidence provided to police by Ms Harrison included screenshots and screen recordings showing Bear making a series of accusations against her and attempting to undermine his previous convictions. Prosecutors said he falsely alleged that Ms Harrison and her mother had conspired to pervert the course of justice. Bear also created an online petition seeking support for a retrial and attempting to obtain Ms Harrison’s bank statements. He continued posting despite several of his social media accounts being shut down. Senior Crown Prosecutor Andrew Young said: “Restraining orders are imposed by the courts to protect victims. Breaching them is a criminal offence which we will not hesitate to prosecute with the full force of the law. “Over several months, Stephen Bear launched a campaign of abuse against Georgia Harrison MBE on his social media channels. He used his platforms to amplify abuse and encourage others to target her, despite being expressly prohibited from doing so. “No woman should be made to live in fear because someone refuses to accept the restrictions placed on them by a court. Stephen Bear may have hidden behind a screen, but his actions had real-world consequences. “The CPS will always seek to prosecute those who threaten, harass or intimidate women and girls, whether that behaviour takes place in person or online.” The original restraining order, which was due to remain in force until March 2028, prohibited Bear from:
- Contacting Georgia Harrison directly or indirectly.
- Attending any address where she is known to reside.
- Posting or commenting about her on social media or encouraging others to do so.
Following Thursday’s sentencing, the Crown Prosecution Service successfully applied for a new restraining order, which will remain in place until further order of the court.
