Firefighters Rush to Smoking Fuse Board in Ventnor Home
Fire crews raced to a Ventnor property this afternoon after a fuse board started smoking, sparking alarm and a swift emergency response.
Smoke Sparks Panic in Pier Street Home
Shortly after 5pm, the owner of a three-storey house in Pier Street spotted smoke pouring from the fuse board and immediately called the fire service. Thanks to quick thinking, they managed to isolate the fuse board before firefighters arrived.
Two Fire Crews Dispatched – One Sent Back
- A retained fire crew from Ventnor was first on the scene.
- A second crew from Newport was also called out but sent back as they weren’t needed.
Damage Kept to a Minimum
An Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue spokeswoman confirmed the damage is not thought to be serious, bringing some relief to the property owner after the scare.
