Sidcup Stabbing Shocker: Man in 60s Arrested After Medical Worker Attacked
Knife Attack at Barnard Medical Centre
A man in his 60s has been detained following a stabbing at Barnard Medical Centre in Sidcup. The victim, a medical professional in his 50s, suffered a knife wound to his arm during the shocking midday assault on Thursday, May 23.
Police rushed to the scene on Granville Road shortly before 1 pm after receiving reports of the attack. Officers found the injured doctor and quickly took him to a south London hospital. Thankfully, his injuries were not life-threatening, and he has since been discharged.
Suspect Nabbed Near Scene
The man, believed to be in his 60s, was arrested nearby on suspicion of attempted murder. He remains in custody at a south London police station as detectives continue their investigation.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 12:48 pm on 23 May to reports of a stabbing at a medical facility in Sidcup. A man in his 50s was found with a knife wound to his arm. His injury is not thought to be life-threatening. A man in his 60s was arrested nearby and remains in custody. Officers from Greenwich are investigating.”
Sidcup police confirmed on social media: “A staff member suffered a forearm laceration but has since been discharged. A suspect was arrested quickly and remains in custody. Investigations are ongoing.”
The Barnard Medical Centre has reassured patients and staff, announcing extra security measures to keep everyone safe following the disturbing incident.
