Slough Man Jailed for Brutal Knife Attack and Bank Robbery
Said Nassor, 29, from Sharney Avenue, Slough, has been slammed with a 16-year prison sentence. Thames Valley Police convicted him of attempted murder and attempted robbery at Reading Crown Court today.
Five Years on License After Prison Term
Nassor, who pleaded guilty earlier to attempted murder, robbery, and possession of a knife in public, will also face five years on license after his release.
Random Knife Attack on Stranger, Followed by Bank Robbery
The violent events happened separately last year. On the morning of March 25, Nassor slashed a stranger across the neck on Yew Tree Road. The victim, a man in his fifties from Slough, suffered serious injuries but survived and was discharged from hospital.
Just two days later, on March 27 at 10:30 a.m., Nassor stormed into a Barclays bank in Slough, demanding £10,000 while waving a knife. Though no one was threatened directly, police swiftly arrested him at the scene.
Police Praise Victims and Stress Rarity of Such Attacks
“It was extremely lucky that the victim of the stabbing survived his injuries,” said Detective Inspector Stuart May from the Major Crime Unit. “There was no prior contact — Nassor randomly attacked the victim from behind.”
May stressed that stranger attacks like these are very uncommon. A full investigation linked both crimes to Nassor, who was charged and remanded back in August.
“We extend our gratitude to the victims for their support throughout our investigation,” May added.
